Hello Music Friends!

I have another festival to tell you about! I hadn’t been able to camp at all this summer, but finally was able to and had the opportunity to attend a festival I had never been to before, the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival! A friend and I, (Connie Renberger) loaded my car almost to the ceiling, hooked up my little camper and took off for Guthrie Oklahoma. We had no idea what to expect, other than a LOT of bluegrass music. We were in for some GREAT MUSIC and FUN!

I was concerned about the camping situation; would we have electricity; would I be close to my friends. There was no reason to worry, it all worked out perfectly, plenty of electricity and right with my friends! For me, this festival was a mini-Winfield, but much smaller and no land rush stress. LOTS of jamming and campground picking, and plenty of old time as well as bluegrass. I heard there was a camp with Irish music as well! Wonderful stage music, traditional and progressive bluegrass. Food trucks – of course! (I loved the tacos and fresh squeezed lemonade!) Showers were FREE. Yes, let me say again – Showers were FREE, and in a shower house – not open air like Winfield.

I heard some great music on stage! I really liked the Grascals. Here is a link to The Grascals performing a song I bet you all know GRASCALS

I got lots of fiddle time in with old time jams in the campground! It was wonderful! I highly recommend the Oklahoma Bluegrass Festival! In fact, it’s high on my list for next year and I hope to stay a few more days. It’s a laid back, smaller festival with great picking and stage performances – what’s not to like??

Update on my health – I’m doing great! Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers! I hope you are enjoying our beautiful fall weather!!

Paula
